About me

The day after the Bloomington City Council appointed me to the open At-Large city council seat started like any other. I got up with my family, got the kids ready for the day; but then I took a drive around town to digest what had happened. I drove through Bloomington and saw the city waking up and coming to life. As I was driving and looking at the homes and business, parks and schools, all of a sudden a weight settled upon my shoulders. I had been entrusted to help lead Bloomington into the future.

My wife and I moved to Bloomington in 2015. We wanted to live in a dynamic community that offered more than just a bedroom. Through participating in the Bloomington Leadership Program, I made incredible friends, met new neighbors and found my calling in supporting Bloomington. That led me to joining the Community Budget Advisory Committee where I learned how difficult it is to manage a city budget but ultimately found a way to address the budget shortfalls brought on by the pandemic. Then I was honored to be a resident Core Planning Team member and helped develop the vision for Bloomington’s Strategic Plan.

After all of these experiences, I realized that there is much more work to do and that is why I applied for the appointment. From addressing infrastructure needs to advocating for policies that promote economic growth and social equity I am committed to using my skills and experience to help lead the way towards a better future for all of Bloomington.
